NATURAL NUMBERS

NATURAL NUMBERS: 

                    

                The numbers which are used for counting are called Natural numbers.

                N= {1,2,3,4,5,6,7...}

                 Number of natural numbers between  a and b  (a < b ) = b-a-1

Example: Find number of natural numbers between 12 and
45 ?

                Here a=12 , b=45 

                Number of natural numbers between 12 and 45 = 45-12-1

                                                                                                 = 45-13

                                                                                                  = 32

                 Number of natural numbers from  a to b  (a < b ) = b-a+1

Example: Find number of natural numbers from 12 to 45 ?

                Here a=12 , b=45 

                Number of natural numbers from 12 to 45 = 45-12+1

                                                                                        = 46-12

                                                                                         = 34

NOTE 👍

                 Sum of first n natural numbers  = n(n+1)/2

Example: Find the sum of first 20 natural numbers?

                Here n=20

                Sum of first 20 natural numbers =(20  x 21)/ 2

                                                                       = 210

NOTE 👍

                 Sum of all natural numbers from a to b = n/2 ( a + b)

                  here n=b-a+1

Example: Find the sum of all  natural numbers from 26 to 37 ?

                Here a= 26    b=37   n= 37-26+ 1 = 12

                 sum of all natural numbers from 26 to 37 = 12/2 (26 + 37)

                                                                                        = 6 X 63

                                                                                        = 378
